St Mary’s Runners Selected for 2018 European Cross-Country Championships
EPACC Athletes from St Mary’s University, Twickenham, will compete in the European Cross-Country Championships in Tilburg on Sunday, 9th December. Multiple European Cross-Country Champions and individual medallists will front a full 40-member British athletics team.
Athletes from the University selected for the British Team are Emily Moyes, Nick Goolab, Andy Vernon, Emile Cairess, and Paulos Surafel, meanwhile Anna Moller will compete for the Denmark Team. The Championships will be held at the Beekse Bergen Safari Park to the south east of the city in Tilburg. With seven events on the programme, this year’s edition will be the biggest to date with 616 athletes, from 38 countries listed on the final entries.
All of the athletes have trained with the Endurance Performance and Coaching Centre (EPACC) at St Marys, which provides an endurance running programme in an environment that is known internationally as one of the best training setups in the world.Over the past decade, St Mary’s has developed a growing reputation as one of the country’s top endurance venues, and the selection of these athletes for the European Cross-Country Championships is evidence of this.
